Are You College Ready?

Hi Aaron!

“Just wanted to give you an update on how the fall has gone so far. I feel that you have prepared me beyond words for the life of a college athlete. Right when we started conditioning and weights, I felt prepared for everything. Our first week, we had a 300 yard shuttle run test, and I […]

Rays’ Chih-Wei Hu: Added to 40-man roster

Big congrats goes out to Gamespeeds Robin Hu (Chih-Wei Hu). He came to Gamespeed in 2013 with one goal, to make a major league roster and play professionally.  He is one step closer now. The Taiwanese native has undergone Gamespeed’s highest level of training and management program conducted by Aaron Thigpen and coach Tony Laio. The program focuses on developing major league talent under stringent guidelines physically, mentally, technically, and tactically.  The results have been the Ray’s organizations overall leader in ERA for the 2016 season.  He hits 98mph, sits at 94mph and has a “PalmBall”  that mystifies batters. He’ll be back at Gamespeed this December to continue his journey.  Cant wait to get started.

Rays’ Chih-Wei Hu: Added to 40-man roster

by RotoWire Staff Nov 19, 2016 •

Hu was added to the Rays’ 40-man roster Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The right-hander turned in a fine season in 2016, posting a 2.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 107:36 K:BB in 24 starts for Double-A Montgomery, showing enough to warrant protection from the Rule 5 draft. Hu may not have the upside of some of the other arms in the organization, but he has a chance to contribute late […]

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREENING

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN

Are You Really… Ready For The Season?

Poor movement and function can lead to decreased performance but at its worse can cause serious injury.  A high percentage of injuries actually are not collision related they usually fall into muscle and tendon strains and sprains. The two major reasons for this are faulty movement patterns and poorly planned conditioning.

Now imagine having the knowledge of where your physically at risk. Imagine being able to tailor your training to correct those issues and reduce that risk.

Well now you can. Using the latest computer imaging technology Gamespeed is able to provide a “Functional Movement Screening Program” to help athletes identify trouble spots, prescribe preventative and corrective training and improve performance.

Before now this technology was only accessible to elite and professional athletes in the NBA, NFL and Major League Baseball.  Now you can take advantage of the scientific breakthrough.

In 20 minutes we can identify from Stability & Mobility Testing
  1. Muscle imbalances.
  2. Incorrect movement patterns.
  3. Poor Posture and Stance.

Pitchers & Throwers Development Program Ages 10-13

Young Guns

Pitchers & Throwers Development Program Ages 10-13

What’s the most important component in developing a young pitcher or throwing athlete?

                                                                       The Management!!!!

Pitch counts and staying away from high risk pitches are just a start. Young arms need a completely managed plan that encompasses age appropriate physical training, education for both the athlete and parent and monitoring of all throwing activities.

The Young Guns Program is about the comprehensive management of young athletes who participate in year round baseball and softball throwing and pitching activities.
THIS IS NOT A PITCHING PROGRAM
IT IS A OFF SEASON PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
DESIGNED FOR THROWING ATHLETES

The goals of the Program are to:
Develop the physical foundation to progress successfully through all levels of softball and baseball.

Empower the athlete and parent with the knowledge to make sound, sensible and appropriate decisions in regards to their athlete’s abilities, performance and expectations for off season training.

To put the athlete on the proper trajectory to be competitive […]
