Pitcher Raul Jacobson back at GS after first season in Mets organization

Were glad to have back Raul Jacobson a GS alum who after a solid college career has now returned home after his first stint in professional baseball. The Miramonte product was GS trained throughout his prep career from 2007-2010. He moved on to play at UC Davis and is now with the Mets organization along with GS trained Alex Palsha (read his story). Raul will do three months of an off season conditioning program.

DAVIS, Calif. — Former UC Davis right-hander Raul Jacobson is the newest member of the New York Mets organization after his contract was purchased by the club on Wednesday.

This dynamic program offers a two-pronged approach to developing the ultimate play maker. Participants will sharpen their fielding skills and techniques with former SF Giants player Erik Johnson of EJ Sports and strengthen their athletic skill development with Gamespeed’s Aaron Thigpen. It promises to be the most effective 75 minutes of training a baseball athlete can undergo.

November Physicality Training Program for Ages 11-13

Time to get physical.

I’ll be frank, one of the most common issues I am increasingly observing in the areas athletes is a lack of “physicality”.

Over the past twenty one years Ive been in this business I can say our kids are skilled but there’s something missing physically. Rest assured if their behind at age 12 or 13 they are likely to be behind at 17 and 18 years of age.

Here’s how I define “Physicality“:

“An athlete who exudes a physical presence in their posture, movements, attitude or approach to athletic activity and competition.”

The top 5 Reasons for this growing problem:

  1. Athletes are “too” technically tuned (Robotic) to where their movements are locked into narrow movement patterns only designed for their sport or position.
  2. Underdeveloped physical size in primary muscle groups (shoulders,glutes, calves, biceps). Due to an absence of  proper physical training or a lack of overall physical activity.

Pitcher Alex Palsha returns to GS after stellar season.

Gamespeed welcomes back Alex Palsha Class A pitcher in the NY Mets organization. Last year Alex did three months of a customized off season conditioning program. The result was a stellar season as a closer, earning All Star honors and topping at 97mph.

Palsha, 23, was drafted by the Mets in round 27 of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft out of California State University at Sacramento. He made his professional debut that season, pitching for both the Kingsport Mets and GCL Mets out of the bullpen, posting a 1.06 ERA in 17 innings with 11 saves over the two combined levels. The right-hander was assigned to the Brooklyn Cyclones for the 2015 season and has been even more successful. Irish heavyweight Con Sheehan joins Gamespeed Fit2Fight Ranks.

Gamespeed welcomes Irish heavyweight Con Sheehan to its Fit2Fight ranks. The newly turned professional boxer is training with Virgil Hunter and they have chosen Gamespeed’s Aaron Thigpen to handle specialty speed and conditioning work. He’s the latest of Hunters charges to make the move and follows super middleweight champion Andre Ward and former welter weight champion Andre Berto.

INTERNATIONAL boxing manager Gary Hyde (NoWhere2Hyde Management) has announced the signing of one of the best Ireland-born heavyweight prospects in decades, “Irish” Con Sheehan, to an exclusive contract.

The 25-year-old Sheehan, who registered a remarkable 203-18 amateur record, is scheduled to make his professional debut March 13 in the United Kingdom on a show to air on Eurosport. Gamespeed athletes are not only “Fit to Compete” but also “Fit to Fight”. Looks like were carving out a new niche in Combat Sports training. First Boxing World Champions Andre Ward then Andre Berto. Now we have the no 2 contender in Muay Thai Boxing Angela Cooper, the “Silent Assassin”. Angela’s finishing her first month of Gamespeed training she’s getting ready for a bout early next year to prepare her for a shot at the title.

Alex Tellez (blue jersey) has completed his first month of training at GS and says he already feels a difference. Were excited to play a part in his new training regiment. This class will focus on all the facets of MULTI-DIRECTIONAL speed, balance and coordination for field and court athletes.
