GS Robin Hu flying under the radar, maybe not much longer says Milb.com article here’s the excerpt on him:

Florida State League

Chih-Wei Hu, RHP, Fort Myers Miracle: A 21-year-old right-hander out of Taiwan, Hu, a Twins prospect, has pitched in 25 pro games stateside — 17 of them starts. Perhaps four or five of them could be considered “poor.” He went at least six innings in seven of his nine starts for Class A Cedar Rapids in 2014, and in a 107 2/3-inning career has held opposing hitters to a .193 average and zero home runs. His coaches and teammates call him “Mr. Hu,” which may or may not have something to do with his aggressive approach on the mound, where he goes right after hitters with a low-90s fastball backed by an improving changeup and a curve. Hu already owns a career 2.29 ERA — with the opportunity to play in a pitcher-friendly park in a pitcher-friendly league in 2015, he may not be under the radar much longer. — John Parker

Masina Mayo back on track after knee surgery.

Masina Mayo 1

Masina Mayo a powerhouse age group sprinter suffered a knee injury while playing basketball in early 2014. Gamespeed trained since 2013 where else would she do her post rehab training? Six months of off season work with a customized program in the gym, homework and participation in the Sunday Track class has shown she is back and better than ever.

This exceptional 8th grader in her first meet posted results of 12.84 in 100m just .03 off her personal best. At 200m she sped 26.30 , two tenths off her personal best and finished with a personal best in the 400m with a 61.10.

Not to be outdone her little brother Zion posted victories in the 100m 13.10, 200m 28.00 a personal best by .8 tenths of a second and a 400m personal best of 61.1 smashing his previous best of 66.41.

Lou Smith: Pole Vaulter soars high at Eastbay Invitational breaks record, state ranked!

pole vault

Our speed training is not just for sprinters. Just ask San Ramon Valley pole vaulter Lou Smith. Starting in August of last year Lou dedicated himself to improving his speed. Undergoing a weekly “pole vault speed program” in our gym coupled with homework assignments aimed at front side mechanics, tempo, acceleration, core and upper body strength he has transformed himself into a force to be reckoned with and “vaulted” himself into the states elite rankings at no. 6.  and leads the NCS by almost a foot.

In his first competition he set a meet record at the Eastbay Invitational with a vault of 15’1″. A whopping seven inch improvement over his previous personal best.

I’m telling you Lou, you should be running a leg of the 400 relay. (smile).

Castro Valley Sprinters Aaron Jones & CJ Edwards a potent 1-2 sprint punch open season strong.

track class 2015

Aaron & others put in a lot of work in Sunday track classes.

Castro Valley sprinters Aaron Jones and CJ Edwards have put in WORK!! A monstrous four month off season program of weights, plyometrics, drills, and rehersal’s have put these guys in a great place to make bids for state.

In their inaugural competition at the Eastbay Invitational they dominated the 100m with CJ winning in 11.02 and Aaron the runner up in 11.12. That was into a -1.8m headwind. CJ ‘s time was just .01 off his personal best. Without the wind an easy under 11.00 run. A great indicator of how far he’s come.

They are ranked no. 2 & 3 on the NCS list right behind the also Gamespeeed trained Jamaun Charles at no. 1.

In addition, Aaron had inspiring exploits in the relays running legs of  49.1  400m  and 21.5 200m splits in two different relays. Exceptional indicators of early season sprint endurance.
