Hey Aaron

Semifinal game for the NorthCoast Championship, Division III.  Campolindo down 2-1 in top of the 7th (final inning) with two outs.  Zoe singles to right, outfielder bobbles the ball allowing Zoe to get to second. Next batter comes up and hits a short fly to left, Zoe is running on contact since there are 2 outsand the 3rd base coach sends her home.  The throw from left field is on the money and it looks like she is going be tagged out at the plate.  She cuts inside, avoids the tag, slides by the plate while reaching back to score the tying run!  Campo goes on to win the game in extra innings putting us into the Championship Game Saturday night!!!

GS athlete Ed Lampkin runs in honor of late grandparents.

Below is an article on Edward Lampkin a sprinter at Sacred Heart Cathedral in the San Francisco area.  A talented athlete who can run anything from 100m to 800m. The Mercury news did a nice feature on him. Ed lampkin

Ed makes the trip from San Francisco on the weekends (Sunday Track class) to tweak his form and work on strategies for his race the 400m. A very talented athlete who has great range he competed most of the year in the 100m and 200m with a lot of success. The speed work helped pay off with a second place finish in the 400m (48.91) at Central Coast Sectionals this past weekend. He narrowly missed first place (48.78). However, it was good enough to advance to the state meet later this month.

He’s been accepted at several schools including University of La Verne, University of Redlands, Eastern Washington, University of Alabama, Fisk University, Weber State and Fresno State. With  good showing at the state meet that list will grow. I think he’ll be able to add a few more. Good luck Ed.

Last month Isaiah kept the Gamespeed tradition alive following in the foot steps of 2010 and 2011 Football  University camp MVP’s Ray Hudson (Foothill/Cal)  and Spencer Hollie (Dublin/SMU). This little guy tore it up in his age group and took home camp MVP honors this year. Cant wait to see what he does on the field this season for the San Ramon Bears. Isaiah Avery

JACKSON, Tenn. – For the third time in program history Austin Peay State University’s baseball team can celebrate a sweep of the Ohio Valley Conference’s top awards. Junior first baseman Craig Massoni was named the league’s Player of the Year and senior closer Tyler Rogers was named its Pitcher of the Year at the annual OVC Baseball Awards Banquet held Tuesday night.

“I’m not sure I have a word that is good enough to describe what these two men meant to our team,” said Austin Peay head coach Gary McClure. “Having Tyler involved in 27 decisions over 42 wins is incredible. And on the other hand, Craig was a guy who hit almost .500 in league play and didn’t do it with singles – he did it with doubles and home runs.

“They both have been huge to this team. But the great thing about both of them is you wouldn’t know they were […]

Gamespeed’s “College Ready” off season training program paying dividends in season for many athletes..

Summer is coming, that means off season for many collegiate athletes who will come back home to the bay area. Athletes from Pepperdine, Oregon State, UCSD, CAL, UCLA, and many others programs will come back through our doors hungry to get ready for the next season. Below are just a couple of the athletes we see every off season and how that work pays off for them. “College Ready” is a program designed to train collegiate or first time collegiate athletes for the demands of high level athletics. Its not about getting in shape.  Its about performing at the next level where talent is not enough. You need to have a smarter program and outwork your competition. Are you college ready?

Monthly Program rates available.

Josh Hathaway- Travel Baseball

Congratulations to Josh Hathaway just nine sessions in to his Gamespeed training. He is seeing solid resuts .  Josh is a quiet kid who comes in and gets his work done enthusiastically. Obviously he’s been paying close attention to his program. Way to go kid!

His father told me of his exploits on the baseball diamond.

Aaron,

I wanted to share a quick update on the progress we are seeing with Josh playing baseball. Last weekend (Apr 27-28) he played in a tournament at BLD in Manteca. On Saturday, he pitched the first game and helped his team get off to a nice start with a 13-3 victory. On Sunday, in the […]

Comeback Story: Serame vaulting to new heights after overcoming injury.

Track

Erika Serame pole vault

Congratulations to Erika Serame and her comeback to competition. Erika had been suffering from an arch injury (caused by working out in new orthotics too soon and often) for most of the season and had her first vault last weekend at the Bob Warren Invitational. She won the event with a vault of 10’00. That’s just two inches off her personal best set last year. It also ties her for number 5 in the North Coast section. Erika did’nt just sit around for the last couple months. She got therapy (Dr. Thomas Lee) and regularly came into Gamespeed and continued to work on her upper-body strength and non weight bearing leg exercises and form. Great job kid, what a result!

Her Dad notified me by email of her performance:

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for whatever it is that you have been doing with Erika to build her upper body as she is exhibiting some amount of increased height in her pole vaulting.  She just started vaulting again last week and I’m seeing her do some things that she hasn’t done in the past to gain height.  She won the Bob […]

Raising their game: York one hitter, Mayo Double PR’s week of April 26th

Baseball

York Cable pull 2john york acalanes

John York threw a one hitter to lead Acalanes over Dublin in 6-0 win. He struck out eight. John has been flying under the radar but has put together an impressive season. He was a constant participant in the off season conditioning workouts we hosted for pitchers and also a member of the Nor Cal VIP program. Proving once again the combination of those two classes leads to good things.

Trent Shelton of Campolindo in an 8-1 win over Dublin pitched six innings, allowed just three hits and had nine strikeouts.

Blaine Jarvis who has been having a great year on the mound helped Las Lomas at the plate in its 5-4 win over Dougherty Valley. Blaine went 2 for 3, one RBI and one walk.
