I love this story about Ray Hudson. The confidence he displays in his ability is what we like to see in our athletes. Ray spent his off season working with us on his speed and agility, footwork and catching skills and participating in our Saturday Football class led by coach Mike. With all the work he got done I’m not surprised by his answer.
Congrats also go out to his quarterback another GS athlete, Tommy Paulson a first year varsity QB who will be a force coming next year.

Facing a fourth and goal and trailing by six points with just over a minute to go, Foothill High football coach Matt Sweeney was going to call a fade to the corner of the end zone for junior wide receiver Ray Hudson.
Sweeney then asked his best receiver if he could beat his guy, and Hudson told his coach he could. Then he did, scrapping the fade and catching a ball on a stop pattern just inside the goal line, giving the host Falcons a 14-13 come-from-behind East Bay Athletic League win over Livermore.
“We never got down and we never panicked,” Hudson said. “And even though I dropped a big pass earlier, (Sweeney) had all the confidence in me in the world and (Tommy) Paulson made a perfect pass.”
With nine seconds left, Livermore (3-5, 0-5 EBAL) marched all the way to the Falcons’ 7-yard line, but elected not to kick a field goal, and Zach McPherson’s pass was intercepted in the end zone by Cody Shields.
The Cowboys, who led 13-0 thanks to a pair of touchdown runs (15, 67) by Damariay Drew, have now lost their last four EBAL games by a total of 13 points.
The Falcons (3-5, 2-3) cut it to 13-7 late in the third quarter thanks to a Grifith Gates 8-yard run, and got a timely defensive stop late in the fourth quarter to get the ball back.
