Sean Miller Shines at LA Combine #2 Overall,  Ranked #4 in Country

An athlete had a dilemma , we had the answer:

I love it when a plan comes together. About 8 weeks ago Sean’s dad called me with a dilemma. Should Sean run track  in hopes of building his speed or do his own training? I expressed my reservations about the misnomer that running track would make you faster for football. It can in some instances but not all. There are many factors to consider. How good is the track coach? Will the athlete get the type of attention he needs? What is the risk of injury from that type of training? My answer, I felt his time would be best spent with a pointed and structured plan to develop his talents as they relate specifically to football.  Speed is not just linear its multi-directional, with starts and stops. So Sean enrolled into the GS Saturday Football Combine Prep and Workouts Class as well as a supervised mid week custom program. With this combination he has worked on speed and power as it relates to football.

The results have been no short of spectacular. Heres an email from Sean’s dad:

“Aaron,  I just wanted to send you the write up for the Nike Combine that Sean attended on Saturday.  He had a fantastic day finishing second overall out of 1100 players with a official Sparq rating of 116.88.  He ran a laser timed 4.53 40yd, 4.37 shuttle with a slight slip, 42′ power ball and 34″ vertical.  Thanks so much to you and Mike for getting him prepared for success at these events and for football season to come.  Let’s go!”

Here’s what ESPN Rise Magazine had to say about Sean:

“Chilly temperatures didn’t stop more than 1,100 athletes from attending the 12th Nike SPARQ Combine of the 2011 tour at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach, Calif.”

Rising Senior Honorable Mentions

Sean Miller, WR, San Ramon Valley (Danville, Calif.)

“Miller finished with the second highest score of the day with a 116.88, up 24 points from a year ago. The big body pass-catcher continues to shine on the combine circuit. He recorded a 4.37 shuttle to go with a 34.4 vertical. This fall he is looking for a breakout season as he becomes the go-to receiving target for blue chip recruit QB Zach Kline.”
