Martinez native and Alhambra High grad Robert Stephenson picked up his first big-league win on Thursday, going five innings in his major-league debut with the Cincinnati Reds as they beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-6.

Stephenson, 23, a former first-round pick of the Reds, was OK in his first outing. He lasted five innings and gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits. He walked two, struck out one and gave up a couple of homers, including one by Ryan Howard.

The right-hander was the beneficiary of an eight-run fourth inning by the Reds. Stephenson threw 87 pitches before being replaced by Jumbo Diaz after the fifth.
