Were glad to have back Raul Jacobson a GS alum who after a solid college career has now returned home after his first stint in professional baseball. The Miramonte product was GS trained throughout his prep career from 2007-2010. He moved on to play at UC Davis and is now with the Mets organization along with GS trained Alex Palsha (read his story). Raul will do three months of an off season conditioning program.

DAVIS, Calif. — Former UC Davis right-hander Raul Jacobson is the newest member of the New York Mets organization after his contract was purchased by the club on Wednesday.
Jacobson, who will report to the Gulf Coast Mets of the rookie Gulf Coast League, had been playing for the Schaumburg Boomers in the independent Frontier League, finishing 3-3 with a 2.76 ERA in 10 starts, including a complete game. He had allowed 67 hits in 65 innings, striking out 52 against only 10 walks in that span, winning two of his final three starts with the two-time defending league champion Boomers.
A reliever who moved into the Aggies’ starting rotation as a senior, Jacobson finished his UC Davis career with a 6-4 record and a 3.95 ERA in 15 appearances (14 starts) in 2015, leading the team in strikeouts 69 and ranking 10th in the Big West Conference in innings pitched (95.2). Seven of his 14 starts were “quality starts,” throwing at least seven innings in 10 games, and allowing two earned runs or fewer in seven of those contests.
Among his senior year highlights were a career-high nine strikeouts in 7 2/3 shutout innings against Fresno State on March 15, and an eight-strikeout performance in his next start against UC Riverside on March 29.
All told, Jacobson finished 10-5 with a 3.83 ERA in three seasons on the mound with UC Davis, striking out 97 in 141 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .273 average.
