Three tenths off 60 yd dash in six weeks for new client!

brody cooper

Campolindo baseball player Brody Cooper just dropped THREE TENTHS of a second off his 60 yard dash time since he began Gamespeed speed training six weeks ago. Doing a customized routine the corner man has been training twice a week and after the first three weeks began a  2-3 day a week homework program.  His rhythm, mechanics, posture and foot strike have greatly improved and we’ll be moving on to more strength and explosive training.

Masina Mayo on comeback trail after knee surgery

messina mayo

What do you do when you need to comeback off of knee surgery? Get your Game on!

Masina was ranked no 2. in the nation in 2012 at 200m for her age group (12yrs).

She tore her ACL while playing basketball. She had surgery, rehab, and is now back at Gamespeed doing post rehab and performance work.  Her training focuses on continued knee strengthening and integrity, running mechanics, coordination and rhythm.

Shes back to limited full speed running while we build up muscular endurance.

She’s got plenty of time, outdoor season starts in February.

Keep up the good work.

Gamespeed’s Andre Berto successful in first comeback bout.

andre-berto-vs-steve-upsher-05-photo-by-naoki-fukuda

On his comeback bid Andre Berto put it all together. Taking a page from good friend World Champion Andre Ward he came to Gamespeed for his pre fight conditioning as well as enlisting the masterful talents of Virgil Hunter and his crew in Okaland. The result of this potent training combination was a convincing win over Upsher and the first step of an exciting career for a boxer with a lot left in the tank.

Jackie Gilbert Selected to Women’s U-19 USA Team

Congratulations to Gamespeed’s Jackie Gilbert. The only Californian and person from the West coast to make the US Women’s Under 19 Lacrosse team. Sher made it on a team that is typically dominated by players form the East coast. She has trained tirelessly for the past couple years and put everything into making this team. A great honor and testament to her work. Way to represent Cali!

Her mom emailed the good news:

Hi Aaron,

Sorry not to write sooner but we were occupied with family business. We wanted to let you know Jackie became the first female Californian to make a USLacrosse team – yeah! It was unbelievably tough and the talent deep. She made a brilliant move at the last minute and changed positions in response to a tryout disadvantage and was able to overcome and play extremely well!  It was so nerve wrecking!!

She was naturally exhausted!
I will send you the clubs press release soon.

Cheers,
Jereen Gilbert

Gamespeed tracksters run well at USA Junior Nationals

daylee dunn

Congrats to Daylee Dunn. The talented twelve year old placed 4th in her age division in the 800m Final.  She was 11th overall in the 400m and 28th in the 80m hurdles. Daylee ran 2.19.00 in the 800m at the regional meet. Her 800m time would put her in the NCS list at #14 among high school athletes and she’s only in the 7th grade!  Great job my “little one!”

Alyssa Brewer competing in her first national meet ran spectacularly. I would bet she was the most inexperienced runner in her 400m final. She placed 5th. Her semi final time of 56.69 would rank her 5th in NCS among this year high school athletes and definitely qualify her for the state meet. Guess what, shes only 13 years old.

Gamespeed’s Robin Hu Midwest League Pitcher of the Week

Our Taiwanese connection Robin Hu continues to have a stellar minor league season. He put his head down and worked on a 5 day a week program with Aaron and coach Tony Lao. The result was a 95mph fast ball and he putting that work to use. Great job Robin.
